Frequently Asked Questions
Is this real mulberry silk or satin?
It is 100% Grade 6A mulberry silk in a charmeuse weave. "Satin" describes a type of weave or finish, not the fibre itself; polyester satin is a different material. Our silk fabric is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, cert. no. SH015 140381 · TESTEX. It is woven at a bluesign® system partner mill.
What will it feel like compared with cotton?
Compared with percale cotton, silk feels noticeably different: a soft drape with less bulk that flows naturally with your body, rather than the structured feel of cotton. Expect smooth, fluid, cool-to-the-touch sheets that move with you all night.
Is silk hot to sleep in?
No. Silk is breathable and cool to the touch. When it's cold, it warms up to your body. So it feels cool in summer and cosy in winter.
This comes from the natural properties of silk. It is a protein fibre that absorbs up to 30% of its weight in moisture. It also dries quickly, so the bed does not stay damp either.
I sleep hot and get night sweats. Can silk bedding help?
Silk cannot prevent a hot flash or change your body temperature. That said, it will make your bed more comfortable when you run warm. Silk is breathable and smooth, so it's less likely to feel heavy or cling to you. Expect a cool-to-the-touch, fluid feel, and a bed that does not stay damp all night.

What does 22 momme mean?
Momme measures the weight and density of silk fabric. At 22 momme, our silk has about 16% more silk than 19 momme, giving it a substantial feel while keeping the softness and drape people choose silk for. It is designed for everyday bedding, not just occasional use.
Why does it cost this much?
You're paying for the material and craftsmanship. Our silk is Grade 6A mulberry, the highest grade, made from long, even fibres that are at least 25 cm in length. Those long fibres leave fewer loose ends, so the fabric is less prone to pilling. At 22 momme, it has about 16% more silk than the common 19 momme. It's treated before dyeing and cutting, sewn at 12 stitches per inch, and finished with bias-bound seams. It's made for everyday use, night after night.
Will it last, and does it pill?
We cannot give a set lifespan because usage differs widely. However, durability was at the top of our mind when we created our product. From the material to the stitching and finishing process, we designed it so that it can last as long as possible.
Our silk is Grade 6A, the highest grade of mulberry silk. That grade signifies smooth, even yarn with fewer loose ends, so the fabric is less prone to pilling. At 22 momme, it is heavier than the common 19 momme, and heavier silk wears more slowly. Finally, we sew the seams at 12 stitches per inch and bind each one in a strip of the same silk, so it does not fray.
Of course, the better you take care of it, the longer it lasts. Our silk care guide walks you through it.
Can I really machine wash it?
Yes. Use cold water and a delicate cycle, place the silk inside the included mesh laundry bag, and choose a mild, pH-neutral detergent made for silk. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Hang dry in the shade and always follow the care label.

Does silk bedding help with dust mites and mould?
Silk is a smooth protein fibre that absorbs up to 30% of its weight in moisture. It also dries quickly, so the sheets don't become a place where mites and mould settle in. Our silk is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified (No PFAS).
Does the fitted sheet slip off?
Our fitted sheets are designed to stay snug. The combination of deep 40 cm (15¾ in) pockets, a full-perimeter elastic, and heavy-duty corner elastics holds it in place. To find the right fit, check out our fitted sheet sizing guide.
What if it is not right for me?
Unused and unwashed items, in their original packaging with all tags attached, can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Our pillowcase is the exception: it has a 30 night sleep trial, so you can sleep on it and wash it first. Because sheets and sets must remain unused to qualify, check your size, mattress depth (our fitted sheet has a 40 cm (15¾ in) pocket) and care routine before ordering. Sale items are final. Please review the full return policy for the latest conditions.
How long does delivery take?
Shipping is free across Canada on every order, with no minimum. Orders ship within 0–2 business days. After that, most orders arrive in 3–5 business days. We ship within Canada only.
Can I send this as a gift?
Yes. Every order ships in gift-ready packaging at no extra cost. On the cart page, you can add a message, and we print it on a free message card. The card goes in an envelope in the box. The packing slip won't show any prices.
